Some players simply do not believe in something like a „Baccarat Strategy“ and consider it as a myth. However, we think that there is a strategy, even for Baccarat, although we believe that strategies which claim to be systems contain most probably wrong, misleading or useless Information. Nevertheless, there are diverse basic steps of the Baccarat strategy which could improve your winning chances.

One crucial aspect of the Baccarat game played in Casinos concerns the so-called score sheets. Everybody at the table seems to track the outcome of each hand precisely. Although almost everyone at the Baccarat table writes down some notes on the point score sheets provided by Casino. If you want to take some notes – feel free to do so, but do not feel required to do it. The problem is that you will not be able to focus as much on the game when you are taking notes. This is simply a strategy by the Casinos – honestly, do you really believe that they would give players free score sheets and pencils if it would be beneficial for them?

Counting cards is as well a useless method. We know this strategy especially from Blackjack where it can be a relatively effective – if it is used in the right Casino. We would assume that the same applies to Baccarat, because the cards are distributed in a very similar style. The problem is that the used cards will be returned into the “shoe”, before too much cards will be distributed. Additionally, in contrast to Blackjack, Baccarat provides no opportunities to change your wager in the middle of a game. When you are playing Blackjack you can change your bet in certain situations. In Baccarat there are almost no situations where the method of counting cards would give you an advantage towards the house – therefore, do not bother!

Some players are tempted to use strategies, similar to the Martingale system, where you have to double your wagers every time you loose, supported by the assumption that you will at some point win, and because of the doubling procedure, get the money back which was lost in previous hands. In fact, it is a perfect and faultless system, especially for games like Baccarat or Roulette. But do not get too excited because Casinos have enforced rules which limit the bet per hand. These table limits (a minimum bets) entirely eliminates the risk of a player who is using the Martingale strategy. Let us suppose that we bet 5$ on the bank and loose, your next wager will be 10$ on the bank, then 20$ and so on, and you keep on loosing – it would not take very long that you would reach the limit. In this case you would not be allowed to raise your bet and the system will fail. We hope that we have made clear why the Martingale system does not work and hope that you will not consider trying it because you would not only be disappointed but also loose a lot of money.

So, if counting cards, hoping to discover some patterns and systems for Baccarat are completely useless, what is a good strategy? If you look at the numbers, you will soon discover that the chances for betting on the bank are better. Does this mean that players should always bet on the bank? Technically, somehow but practically speaking it would be a rather boring if you keep betting a whole evening on the bank. If you look on the positive aspects of certain strategies, for example attempts to discover certain patterns are ways to break monotony.
