playing blackjack

Blackjack is one of the most widely played casino games of all time. Whether you decide to play it online or offline in a real casino does not matter too much; the game remains one of the most exciting card playing games available. A great advantage of this casino game is that it is easy to learn, making it interesting for beginners. Mastering the game of Blackjack, however, takes years of practice, which keeps the game interesting even for veterans. This leads to a huge player base, which makes it easier to find players for online Blackjack at any time of the day.

Learning the basic rules of playing Blackjack is very easy. Basically, you are being dealt two cards by the dealer. Every player places a bet according to the rules of the game. This part alone is very complicated and it might take a while to learn all possible bets by heart. After the initial two cards, players can request more cards. The main goal of Blackjack is for your cards to reach the number 21. This can be done by any combination of cards, like 6, 8 and 7. However, if you exceed 21, you immediately lose your bet and any wager you placed. Vice versa, if the dealer’s hand exceeds 21, the bank loses and the players win. These rules sound simple in theory, but playing the game and knowing when to use which kind of bet – there are a great number of very special bets that can only be played when facing a certain variation of cards in your hand – takes a long time.

black jack how to play

You can ease the learning curve a bit by playing Blackjack online for example. Without the requirement of using real money, you can set your focus on the game itself and really pay attention to what is going on, what techniques other players use and how they place their bets. Playing Blackjack is as much a game of chance as it is one of patience and experience. You will never be able to eliminate the factor of luck and chance, but you will be able to lower your losses to a very acceptable level. Make no mistake, though: Luck is still one of the biggest factors of Blackjack and you should only use real money if you can afford to spare it. If this is the case, and you are looking for a fun way to spend the evening, Blackjack is the right game for you.

black jack rules

The rules of the casino game Blackjack follow a well known proverb. Easy to learn, hard to master. To fully learn and understand everything there is to know about Blackjack, you will primarily need a lot of time on your hands, and equally as much practice. Gaining a small overview over the basic set of rules is possible in just a few minutes, however.

The main goal of Blackjack is for the cards on your hand to reach the sum of 21, or at least to get as close to this number as possible. If the combined value of your cards exceeds 21, you lose the game immediately. This counts for both the dealer (also called the bank) as well as the players. Before the game starts, all players place their bets. You never place against the other players; instead, Blackjack is a game that allows each player to play versus the dealer independently of all other players. After the bets are placed, each player receives two cards. The values of each card correspond to their number. A 7 is worth 7 points, for example. Every face card (jack, queen and king) counts as a 10. The ace is an exception, as the player can decide whether it is worth 1 point or 11 points.

The player starts the game by requesting additional cards. He does not have to do this, as it is possible to reach a very high number, like 20 or 21, without requiring any additional cards from the deck. A player can request as many cards as he wishes. If he exceeds 21, he goes “bust” immediately, which equals to an instant loss of the game. The same fate will hit the dealer, should he go above 21.

The dealer has to follow a few rules that do not apply to regular players. For instance, if the dealer has less than 17, he must “hit”, which is the Blackjack term for drawing another card. If he is at or above 17, he must “stand” instead, which means that he must not take an additional card. The highest possible hand for the player and the dealer is a “natural” which describes the rare occurrence of receiving an ace and one of the face cards or a 10, resulting in an instant 21, also called the Blackjack.

There are a great number of extra rules, like splitting cards, doubling bets, surrendering and many more. If you want to find out more about the game of Blackjack, you should consider playing it online for starters. You learn a lot by simply playing the game; becoming a master of it, however, will take a lot of time and patience – and eventually money.
