Keno has a lot in common with lottery and bingo. It was invented over two thousands years ago in China – probably in order to support the shrinking reserves of an old city during the war. Later, those intakes were used in order to finance the construction of the Chinese wall. The game was taken by Chinese emigrants to the US and then it spread all over the world and became one of the most popular dice games.

The Keno rules are really simple and easy to remember; you have your Keno ticket with 80 numbers (or sometimes 70) and you will have to choose 1-15 numbers (in some Casinos you have to choose only 10 numbers) and mark those numbers. Then 20 numbers are drawn. How much you may win depends on two things – first, it depends on how much spot numbers you have selected and secondly, it depends on the number of your hits.

The most important thing to understand is that, the higher the amount of the hits in relation to the number of your tips, the higher will be the money you win. Payouts will be calculated in the following way: the sum total of the bets will be multiplied with the odds, which again depends on the number of spot numbers – therefore, the prize correlates with the number of tips.

1st Tip: The optimal bet

You should think carefully about the amount of money you are willing to bet. Some people claim that players should bet at least 5$ or even more because if you are betting only a small amount of money, your prize will also be only small. Moreover, you should also think carefully about the number of tips you are willing to make. Since the odds relate directly to the tips, you can therefore influence how long you will stay in a game as well as you can increase your chances for a bigger prize.

2nd Tip: How many spot numbers?

As we have already mentioned, when it comes down to the decision how much spot numbers you are willing to choose, you have to remember that the amount of numbers alters the amount of money you may win!

The more numbers you choose, the higher the chance that at least some of your numbers will be drawn. However, this does not automatically mean that your winning chances are going to increase if you chose the maximum number of tips. Eventually, you will also need to have some hits in order to win anyway! For instance, if you choose 15 numbers, you will need at least 5 hits in order to get at least your wager back. Therefore, you have to make a balanced decision: on the one hand you have to choose enough numbers in order to have good chances; on the other hand you should not choose too much numbers because you would need a lot of hits in order to win.

3rd Tip: Luck

The Keno numbers are drawn randomly. Therefore, it is impossible to foresee the winning numbers and you should know that Keno is a game of pure luck. However, it happens that you choose numbers by chance and exactly those numbers will be drawn. You can choose birthdays, or anniversaries or any number you want.
